How Small Business Friendly Is Your State?
Posted by Megan Dorn under Small Business
The Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council recently released its Small Business Survival Index 2008, which is basically a ranking of how small business friendly each state is. To come up with its list, the SBEC looks at major government-imposed or government-related costs affecting investment, entrepreneurship and business. They also rank states according to their public policy climates for entrepreneurship. Here is the complete list below. Check to see where your state ranks.
1. South Dakota 14. Missouri 27. Louisiana 40. West Virginia

Wow, isn’t that interesting that those states seemingly punish the small business yet they still stay there… Some of the GDP has to do with population in the larger states and major cities obviously, but otherwise quite interesting.
